Is there a cost for your service?

NO, it is illegal for a recruitment agency to charge a job seeker to find them a job.

Can I update you with my resume?

Yes, above this section on the Job Seeker page you can select Update Your Profile or Update Your profile + Resume to ensure we have your most current details.

Do you make contact with me when considering me for alternative job vacancies?

This is a tough question as 50% of candidates like us making regular contact and the other 50% say no, damned if we do and damned if we don’t. We generally will only send out an update profile request by email to first see if you are currently actively looking for work.

You have contacted me quoting Seek – why?

Most candidates are unaware that when you apply to a job through Seek, they will keep your resume and profile. Seek then sell this profile to recruiters which when we do, we will be on the phone to you and will let you know we purchased your details from Seek – in fact when we do, it normally triggers an email from them to you advising of our details.

Is a LinkedIn profile important when looking for a new job?

Yes, it is important to have a current LinkedIn profile visible to hiring managers. We find also that particularly in sales roles, a LinkedIn profile is expected.

How do I apply for a position?

The best place to start is to either search our jobs and apply, thereby submitting your resume or to just simply click on the “Submit Resume” button above and we will pick it up from there. There will be a profile questionnaire to complete as part of step 2 and then with that information to hand, we will be in touch by phone to have an informative consultation about where to go from there.

I saw multiple positions on website, should I apply for all?

It is possibly worth applying to two or three but no more. Our recruiters are always considering applications across all of our jobs – statistically 80% of the candidates we place, applied to another role first.

What are the next steps after I apply online for a position?

Once your application has been assessed positively against a job opening, you will be invited to register in person at Wood Recruitment. At this point we will discuss your background and key skills, some of the particulars you would like to see in your next employment and then of course the job openings matching your criteria. This process normally takes around 45 minutes.

How do I ensure that I will be considered for current or future positions?

Unless you specifically ask to be removed/deleted from our database we will keep your details for searching against other job openings. We will always contact you to discuss a new opening and seek permission to send your resume to our client.

How should I prepare for my interview?

This all depends on the specific job role and is something that your Wood Recruitment consultant will discuss with you at the time. We will also advise to research the client using their website and possibly utilise social media to research the interviewer.

Do I have to take a skill assessment?

A skill assessment is not mandatory and not always appropriate to the job role but it will enhance your application lodged through us and applications you may make directly. At the completion of your assessment you will be provided with a certificate of competency which you could include in your resume.
